Clothing Store Simulator

TrendingNow.games Editorial
November 28, 2025

A familiar clothing store simulator held back by extensive AI assets, poor optimization, and undercooked polish for a 1.0 release.

Introduction

Clothing Store Simulator is another entry in the simulator genre that does what other games in this space do, just with a clothing store theme and setting. If you're familiar with these types of games, you'll know exactly what to expect here. The gameplay loop follows the standard simulator formula of stocking shelves, managing customers, and expanding your business. It's the kind of game designed to be relaxing background entertainment while you listen to podcasts or music, and if that's what you're looking for in these simulator games, you might find some enjoyment here.

Relaxation Over Engagement

The game was definitely close to what I'd call a "play and zone out" experience. There's not much here that demands your full attention, which can be a positive depending on what you're after. The loop is simple enough that you can engage with it casually while your brain is mostly occupied elsewhere. For players who treat these simulators as digital fidget toys to keep their hands busy during long listening sessions, this hits that specific niche.

AI Asset Problem

One thing you can't miss is the overuse of AI assets throughout the game. Most images are AI-generated, and these aren't even high-effort AI assets where the rough edges are cleaned up or polished. They're noticeably artificial in ways that constantly break immersion. For a 1.0 release, relying this heavily on unrefined AI-generated content makes the game feel cheaply made rather than thoughtfully crafted.

What Works

  • Familiar simulator gameplay loop
  • Good for background/relaxation gaming
  • Interesting shirt design customization feature
  • Fits the "zone out while listening" niche

What Doesn't

  • Extensive use of low-effort AI assets
  • Severe optimization and FPS issues
  • Poor readability with light text on light backgrounds
  • Items named generically like "Pot_02"
  • Deliveries spawn in the middle of the street
  • Feels undercooked for a 1.0 release
  • Key upgrades like cashiers arrive too late

Undercooked Polish

There's a general readability issue that makes the game feel extremely undercooked for what claims to be a 1.0 release. Light text on light backgrounds makes information hard to parse. There's no useful information provided about items, and things are named generically like "Pot_02" instead of actual descriptive names. These are basic polish issues that should have been addressed long before leaving early access.

Another issue that shows just how rushed this feels is that deliveries you order for your store get delivered in the middle of the street. That just screams lack of quality control and makes you wonder if anyone actually playtested this before release. It's such a basic thing to get wrong that it undermines any confidence in the game's development.

I do feel like some of the upgrades come in too late. The cashier, for example, arrives much later than it should given how tedious manually handling every transaction becomes. The pacing of unlocks doesn't match the pace at which the game becomes repetitive.

Performance Concerns

This is one of the least optimized games I've played this year. Even early on, the game suffered from egregious FPS drops, and the more the store grew, the bigger this issue became. For a simulator game with relatively simple graphics and mechanics, there's no excuse for performance this poor. It actively hurts the relaxation factor when the game is stuttering and dropping frames during basic tasks.

One Bright Spot

The game does have an interesting customization feature that lets you design your own shirts. This is actually a cool addition that gives you some creative freedom beyond just placing generic items on shelves. It's one of the few areas where the game tries to do something a bit different from the standard simulator template.

Early Impressions Verdict

Clothing Store Simulator feels like it launched too early despite carrying a 1.0 label. The extensive use of low-effort AI assets, severe optimization problems, and lack of basic polish make it hard to recommend even to fans of the simulator genre. Yes, it can fill that background gaming niche if you're desperate for something new in this space, and the shirt customization is a neat feature. But the poor performance alone makes it frustrating to play for extended sessions, which defeats the entire purpose of these relaxation-focused games. There are better options in the simulator genre that respect your time and hardware more than this does. Unless significant patches address the optimization and polish issues, I'd suggest waiting or looking elsewhere.
