A promising physics-based roguelite that turns dice-throwing into tactical combat with room for strategic depth.
Demo Impressions
After playing the Rune Dice demo, I can say this game is promising. The concept is very cool. It's a physics-based roguelite where you throw dice and watch them bounce around. Each combination applies the effect of the combined dice, whether that's damage, specific effects, or different damage types. The game has multiple classes that allow access to different special dice that change the gameplay and deckbuilding approach.
Strategic Depth
There's enough room for planning ahead to target a specific area on the dice board where you want to combine for higher numbers or specific special dice. You also consider enemy positions and types to choose maybe more AOE dice or specific single-target focus or healing. It creates a nice balance between physics chaos and tactical planning.
Polished Tutorial
The tutorial was polished and covered everything, which was good since demos usually don't iron out this part. It made jumping into the mechanics smooth and painless.
Demo Verdict
Overall the game is interesting. I wish the demo was longer to show what sorts of builds you might achieve at higher levels, but what I played was for sure enjoyable. Looking forward to the full launch in 2026.
